President Meets Sea Games Coaches, Achletes

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono held an audience with Indonesian coaches and athletes grouped in the Prima (Indonesia's Asian Games 2010 and SEA Games 2011 golden program) program here on Friday evening.

 

 


The head of state was accompanied by among others Mrs Ani Yudhoyono, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Djoko Suyanto, Minister/State Secretary Sudi Silalahi, Chief Economic Minister Hatta Rajasa, Health Minister Endang Rahayu S, Education Minister Muh Nuh, Chief People`s Welfare Minister Agung Laksono and Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Andi Mallarangeng.


The audience was held in the Army`s Special Command (Kopassus)`s complex in West Bandung district.


The president and entourage arrived in the audience location at 4 pm after a three-hour land trip from the Bogor Palace in district town of Bogor.


"Prima" was established based on a presidential decree, No. 20 / 2010. It is formed as a means of preparing reliable national athletes in an efforts to achieve a better reputation in the sport field and in regional and international sports events.


The action plan of Prima in the coming SEA Games covers 1,446 athletes now being promoted but from whom best athletes would be selected, 249 coaches and 23 managers for 36 sports branches.


SEA Games which will be held in November 2011 is expected to be attended by 6,000 athletes, 4,000 officials and journalists.
